I think it's pretty safe to say that every guitar player has been influenced during their musical journey by certain people. We all strive to learn songs by our favorite performers and we are on a constant quest to find that perfect tone. The down side is that this tonal journey can get extremely expensive. And if you want to get a guitar of your favorite guitarist be ready to pay thousands of dollars for a signature model. Uh...I don't have that kind of expendable cash, so I thought it would be fun to build a guitar from parts to see 1. how much it would cost to make a copy of a signature model and 2. learn more about guitars and how they work.

I did some simple research and found that there is a ton of information on the coveted David Gilmore "Black Strat", so this is my objective of this project. I plan on making some changes already since over the years I have grown comfortable with some components, but I will point those out as we go. Since this is a trial project I also only plan to spend about $100 a month on this project. I would also like to keep this project under $800. Let's see how I do.

I hope you enjoy this musical journey.
